Miss Connecticut Orientation

Today has heightened my excitement for the 90th Miss Connecticut Competition by leaps and bounds! We started off the morning by meeting with our fabulous swimwear sponsor, Kandice Pelletier. Our swimsuits are gold and silver, and all of us girls are so excited to to rock the stage come June! Following our fitting, we met with the Miss Connecticut board to discuss competition prep and upcoming surprises! I hope everyone is staying tuned for updates as the pageant draws closer because this promises to be a special show!

Painting and More Painting

Giving it up to my princess, Maggie, for doing such a fabulous job putting together a fundraiser! This afternoon and evening we had TWO fundraiser sessions for Ally G's Angels, CMN Hospitals, and Bread for Life! The first was canvas painting and surprise I put a cat on mine :) The second was painting glasses which was hard but still put smiles on everyones face!

Both events were very successful so we are very thankful to The Tipping Chair for hosting! If you would like to donate or get involved with any of the charities please reach out!!!

Running for Food

Bright and early today I joined some of my sister queens at Naugatuck Valley Community College for the Food Pantry 5K! I always love getting together with community members that support each other, and this was no exception. I enjoyed cheering the runners (and puppies) on the course and giving out awards to the participants that excelled!

Time to Hand Jive

I spent Saturday night traveling back to the 1950's with my princess, Maggie! We joined the Dames for Soldiers at the VFW in raising money for Connecticut's Iwo Jima Survivors. The sock hop was in full swing and meeting the supporters while selling raffle tickets was a blast! Reach out if you would like to participate in the ride and/or ceremony on May 20th to honor our Iwo Jima fallen and survivors!

PS~ Also don't forget that my princess, Maggie, has a birthday on Tuesday!

The community of Greater New Haven came out in the masses today! The St.Patrick's Day Parade went off without a hitch and I most definitely had a blast with my princess, Maggie, and fellow sister queen Miss Fairfield County! I was also humbled to represent such a diverse and supportive community of individuals!

Children's Hospital Week

As an individual who has been involved with Children's Miracle Network for years, one of my WHYS is the friendships that have grown with patients over the years! I have seen the journeys and been a part of the sadness and joy that accompanies them. Time in the hospitals is something I always look forward too! Seeing the smiles and sharing in hope is what it is all about! If you would like to give a smile follow the donation link on the right ->

Read Across America

As Read Across America week comes to a close I just wanted to comment on how important I believe reading is. Not only do I believe it inspires a creative mind, I also believe it can start a fire behind the thirst for knowledge! Both of which I take great pride in inspiring within the hearts of kids! If you are ever in need of a fellow book lover, please reach out!

Mall Madness- Girl Scouts

The 150th Girl Scout Anniversary was a huge success in the Ensfield mall! I was a Girl Scout all through high school and loved the chance to share my journey with all the young women I met! The STEM booth was working on getting the girls involved in engineering within the coming months by building robots! With a strong engineering background I helped out with the robot circuits and even counseled a young woman struggling with deciding her future. Another booth I was ecstatic to visit was the Gold Award project focusing on flag retirement. This young woman saw the need to honor our country and the men and women who serve it with respect. We discussed my platform and swapped research for further use and education.

After this early afternoon I had the chance to hang out with my sisters and watch our beautiful Miss Connecticut, Eliza Kanner, introduce some young Girl Scouts modeling for the Second Chance Shop fashion show! The show went off without a hitch, ending with dancing and autograph signing that was a blast to be a part of! In other words, the Girl Scouts has a lot to offer young women and its message is empowering to support!
